My name is Marty Lenz and I am a Physical Therapist at Oxford Rehabilitation Center in Northeast Philadelphia. My most recent academic pursuit was completed in 2013, graduating with honors from Neumann University’s Doctorate of Physical Therapy Program. Soon after, I sat for and passed the board examination for physical therapy licensure and have been working primarily in outpatient settings since that time.
I obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from Temple University in 1996, interning during my last summer semester and subsequently starting my first professional health care position at the Outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation Department at Bryn Mawr Hospital. Later in 1996, I also completed examination through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) to become a Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist. The next 15 years were spent at Bryn Mawr Hospital, working with and educating cardiac patients who experienced conditions such as heart attacks, bypass or valve surgeries or angioplasty/stenting procedures. Additionally, during this time period, I enjoyed conducting in-home personal training for heart patients, seniors and athletes.
I have certification in the Graston Technique as well as continuing education pertaining to manual/hands-on therapy and Kinesio taping.
I find that the best aspect of my current position at Oxford Rehabilitation Center is meeting and learning about our patients, their lives and goals. I truly enjoy building a good relationship with them and strive to help them attain their rehabilitative goals while having fun along the way! My focus is to always provide my patients with the means to achieve the best outcome possible and return them to a stronger and more functional lifestyle. It is very rewarding to me when I am told by patients that they feel much better and can once again perform the activities they have always enjoyed.
From a personal standpoint, I am blessed to be engaged to a truly beautiful woman and have 2 terrific daughters who all mean the world to me! I love to stay active, enjoying sports activities including soccer, benefit runs/running with my Siberian Husky pup and sprint triathlons. I also spent many fun years drumming in rock bands in the Delaware County area and yes, I used to have hair..
